Imagine Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but from the aliens’ perspective & they’re much nicer. The Host is a fun & quick read, but honestly I’m wondering why Stephanie Meyer, author of the Twilight series, has a thing for two guys going after the same girl & the same girl (essentially) liking two different guys. A traditional Mormon at heart (polygamy for chicks)? As always, she is obsessed with sex & throwing obstacles in the way so no one is overtly having it, warring brothers/families, being awkward & having everything workout even though totally not realistic. These themes become really noticeable when really everyone should just be worried about surviving an alien invasion.
