The Syrian Bride is an amazing, intricate & moving film. Interestingly, one Israeli official, though just as committed to formal rules, is willing to tweak them for the family from a different background in recognition of their similarities, but the Syrian official & Druze community are obstinate, divorced from their heart & only committed to vague principles & doesn’t break from the official stance: family comes after the state.
