The Hunt is like a modern day Salem Witch Trials except fewer heroes, but there is a vibe of if only the ladies would step aside, the guys could sort everything out. There are incredibly beautiful & brilliant moments, but something about the pacing was off-simultaneously rushed & too long. What works: everything is believable-no one has bad intentions or does anything wrong yet they slowly turn into monsters and the very thing that they hate-abusers. Mads Mikkelsen is completely believable as a gentle, supporting friend of people both big & small despite his numerous high profile villain roles. Warning: the dog does die & the movie title is both literal & figurative.
