A stark portrayal of how in the face of madness, what remains defines us. Good Evening, Mr. Wallenberg largely focuses on Wallenberg’s effort to save lives in Budapest as WWII drew to a close and invasion became imminent. The film does a great job of showing everyone’s frenzied efforts-to kill or save-as their doom approached. As the end draws near, the stripping of societal niceties becomes literal & figurative-clothes are discarded, official papers remain unread, position and societal status are disregarded, orders are ignored or enforced.
