Where to Watch

Sometimes a movie is so bad & soulless that you wonder if it is an illusion that your mind constructed so you can complain. One of the signs of the apocalypse–when Hasbro produces a movie. (Why I’ve never seen a Transformers film to date.) Such a strange mix of quality (Jonathan Pryce, Dennis Quaid, Joseph Grodon Levitt, Christopher Eccleston) & utterly crap (Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans) actors and even though the ratio seems skewed, GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra’s story manages to suck all possibility of quality from the normally reliable performers. Pryce as US President…really?!? And it’s ugly to look at! Don’t get me started on the gender issues. When a more experienced fighter has to be rescued by a Wayans, something is wrong. If I had known that it was by the director of Van Helsing, I would have stayed away. And a thesis can be created about the Baronness alone. Boo hiss! Most interesting character, Snake Eyes, is the one that we can’t see & doesn’t talk. Not kidding.
