I had zero interest in watching Edtv until I saw the poster for it soon after seeing an episode of True Detective. I completely forgot that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson were costars before the HBO series. What I did remember: I saw The Truman Show in the theaters, not Edtv, despite hating Jim Carrey. One is art, and one is a more realistic portrayal of reality tv because it is inane and can’t believe that anyone would actually watch this crap. Ron Howard as the epitome of mediocrity & lack of excellence. Basically a romcom: Ed has vague aspirations for more out of his humdrum daily existence, and Jenna Elfman plays his love interest. Apparently Edtv was an adaptation of a foreign film. Skip it!
