Unlike most memoirs or autobiographies by political figures, Wendy Davis’ Forgetting to Be Afraid: A Memoir is actually a good book that I would recommend to anyone. Forgetting to Be Afraid: A Memoir is an extremely quick and engrossing read, but more importantly, the first two hundred pages are actually about her personal life, and the last one hundred pages are about her most notable political accomplishments, including campaign loses and legislative failures. If Frank Capra were alive today, he would buy the film rights to Forgetting to Be Afraid: A Memoir because she does not preach, she is what she does-an idealistic person who did not forget her humble roots and struggles and believes that government belongs to the people.
