Of all the podcasts featured by The Official This Week in Blackness Network, the fate of TWIB.FM: On Blackness concerns me the most. TWIB.FM: On Blackness is an ambitious podcast: think a PBS interview show such as Charlie Rose, but longer and only features academics such as Dr. Jelani Cobb, Dr. Yaba Blay and Melissa Harris-Perry discussing their work. Only 3 episodes exist and originally aired over a year ago. It has been on hiatus since then, and academics are usually hard to schedule, so the prospects for new episodes seem slim despite all claims to the contrary. In addition, with the introduction of the newest podcast offered by TWiB, Historical Blackness, as a listener, I wonder if On Blackness will end up being consolidated with Historical Blackness. Either way, treasure what was offered and spare a few hours to listen to TWIB.FM: On Blackness.
