TWiB.FM: SPORTSBALL

I am a sports atheist, but because I love anything featured by The Official This Week in Blackness Network, and the understated humor of its host, Aaron Rand Freeman, I decided to give TWiB.FM: SPORTSBALL a chance, and I’m glad that I did. The weekly podcast is temporarily on hiatus while one of its three hosts is on vacation so now is a good time to catch up. TWiB.FM: SPORTSBALL gives me just enough explanation to make intelligible such (alien to me) mainstream pastimes as the Super Bowl, college basketball and the Olympics and show how these events intersect with the political and socioeconomic realm. When the discussions turns to hard core sports commentary like player’s performances and game statistics, I find myself zoning out like a character in a Charlie Brown cartoon, but still soothed by the interaction of the hosts, including David von Ebers, an affable Chicago lawyer, and Rachel Parenta, a NJ comedian. If I ever get anything right about sports, I’ll have to thank TWiB.FM: SPORTSBALL.
