I rewatched this brief UK series–Ultraviolet is shorter than I remember, but pretty sweet! Not so much about vampires as a cross between biochemical terrorism with a dash of the X-Files. The real mystery is to figure out whether or not leeches are being persecuted for being different or are part of a dangerous conspiracy that somehow connects seemingly disparate plots of hijacking people from the financial, medical & scientific community!
