Where to Watch

Supernatural meets BTVS meets police procedure show. Pros: I like that there is an intricate world & that the main character is being inserted into a community as opposed to a monster of the week show, though it does have that vibe initially. I also liked in the first season that even though he had a double life, it was complementary & revolutionary because he was willing to protect people that based on appearance could be seen as enemies, but he goes deeper & befriends them. Cons: that’s actually why I don’t like the voiceover intro in the second season–the other characters may not be human, but they aren’t monsters, and as long as they don’t transgress certain boundaries like not killing, can be part of a community, but the show seems to be departing from the main character’s ability to meld his police & Grimm duties. Perhaps nitpicky, but seems that all Grimms on the show seem to be of Italian descent, but actual Grimms were German. Not a big deal & can be explained easily so looking forward to it being explained in the future. The jury is still out on whether recasting WWII in a supernatural light will work. So far it seems forced, but I’m willing to give them a little more rope before I start rolling my eyes. Love the guest appearances of older female actresses playing Grimms & would happily watch a prequel or spin off shows with middle aged women ninjas. Sasha Roiz is in it & if you’ve seen Caprica, you know that awesomeness will ensue!
