Where to Watch

First half of The Fades is derivative & not memorable–think Buffy meets Smallville except not one emotionally stable or normal person. The commentary accompanying the deleted scenes reveals that the creators constantly favored action over character development, which may explain why it is so weak. You’ll want to scream, “Stop going into dark alleys or following dead people.” Second half is the strongest & delivers on the show’s mythology, action & character development, but without the first half, it would all be gobbleygook. Zombie apocalypse ensues in a way that you can’t imagine & though the show’s butchering of Biblical stories, particularly the Lot story and angels, are somewhat hard to stomach & clearly the writers know enough to know the rare stories, but did not bother to continue to finish reading them (& I like Supernatural, a show that takes Bible stories & runs way beyond theological bounds), in the end, I enjoyed the show, but not a must see.
