I like Wyatt Cenac, but it took a few sittings to finish the 67 minute Wyatt Cenac: Brooklyn. Wyatt Cenac is charming, chill, funny and handsome, but his stand up set failed to keep me consistently laughing the entire time despite his poignancy and regional style. When he was finally killing it, Wyatt Cenac: Brooklyn’s would reenact the scene off stage with a Wyatt Cenac puppet, which just distracted me and took me out of the experience. I’m theoretically glad that Netflix has Wyatt Cenac: Brooklyn, but it did not work. Everything can’t be a hit.
