Whereas the original was filled with ambiguity, mystery, poetry & a surrealistic battle between the Christian & pagan world, this version of The Wicker Man is painfully explicit, complete with backstory, filled with silly stereotypes & one dimensional characters, an obviously shady community & lots of chew the scenery, not in a good way, Nicholas Cage. It is not so bad that it is good. Skip The Wicker Man & see the original.
