If you don’t know anything about sex trafficking, this movie may be a good way to start. Even though it was graphic, I didn’t think that it was unflinching & brutal enough–& I don’t mean that I want a Saw-like scenario, but I think the editing suffered. The movie felt conflicted. The Whistleblower wanted to be Lilya-4-Ever & a thriller like Fair Game, The Insider, etc. in an effort to gain a wider audience, but I think that the story suffered from its efforts to make the story more relatable & attractive to audiences. Marketing won over substance, but still a powerful effort.
