Where to Watch

The Week That Changed The World ended up in my queue because after discovering that Bruce Marchiano has played Jesus more often than any actor ever has, I consider it a personal challenge to see all his depictions. In addition, my mom loves watching anything remotely related to Jesus. The Week That Changed The World is utterly forgettable at 33 minutes, purports to be a documentary, but clearly is using clips from another movie, Come Follow Me, to add a visual counterpoint to Paul L. Maier’s lecture about Holy Week, i.e. the events preceding Jesus’ crucifixion.
I am unfamiliar with Maier, but apparently he is a novelist and an ancient historian. The Week That Changed The World was probably conceived as an entertaining primer to baby Christians because it is unlikely that anyone other than a Christian would find it interesting. The most peculiar visual feature of The Week That Changed The World was when Maier mentioned a person, the documentary suddenly used wrestling or football introduction tactics by having some random actor in costume appear on the screen with his name next to him.
I suppose The Week That Changed The World is a nice introduction to Holy Week, but it is such an odd production that I would encourage you to just read the Bible or go to church instead.
