I love Jet Li and his awesome fight scenes. After Spy, I can appreciate Jason Statham. War (2007) should be for me, but it isn’t. War (2007)’s story is a hot mess featuring Chinese Triads, Yakuza and FBI agents who don’t seem anything like FBI agents. There is a neat plot twist that seems derivative from an iconic John Woo movie, but not cool enough for me not to feel like I wasted almost 2 hours of my life watching War (2007). I’m sorry, but I need at least a thin veneer of a cohesive story to enjoy War (2007). At least Nadine Velazquez is still getting a paycheck after My Name Is Earl. Skip it!
