The Passion is a televised passion play told by using secular songs. Some of the songs were performed live before an audience, and some were pre-recorded. The Passion was filmed in New Orleans and hosted by Tyler Perry. While the story unfolds, people carried an enormous glowing white cross through the streets, and occasionally the story would stop to go to a woman interviewing people participating in the procession.
Other than the amazing bookend performances by Yolanda Adams, Chris Daughtry actually trying as Judas and Seal’s attempt at acting, The Passion was dreadful and wooden. The Passion’s pitch seemed to be “What if Jesus was in a boyband, and the apostles were his backup singers? And what if the people playing them had little to no acting ability whatsoever and were just adequate singers?”
