Where to Watch

The Happy House is rated incredibly low on Netflix, but I actually enjoyed it. The Happy House is a lower budget, more realistic and comedic take on the traditional horror movie than Scream. The Happy House is about a city couple vacationing at a family-owned bed and breakfast in the country. Normally I hate when movies trot out every trope. The Happy House did a great job juggling all the tropes until one was left standing. The Happy House found a plausible reason to eliminate each suspect and flesh out the characters, especially the ones that were suspicious. The Happy House made me attached to each one. I loved how the girlfriend was the voice of the audience as she plausibly reacted to the weirdness. When the mayhem ensues, people do stupid things, but hey, who wouldn’t when confronted with a murderer. I highly recommend The Happy House to slasher film lovers who don’t mind a humorous approach as a twist on the genre.
