Terribly Happy felt largely contrived & sped up though the movie’s pacing was very deliberate, i.e. slow, in some places. I think that there were moments of visual brilliance & the movie got the town’s sinister presence as a character spot on as it progressed. I liked the nihilistic vibe & how acceptance for who you are, warts & all, was kind of the twisted point, but to what end? I didn’t buy why the town accepted him when an explanation was given. Left me puzzled & am open to any interpretations! (Also for any Danes out there who saw the movie, did it FEEL Danish or like they took aspects from other film genres & super imposed it on this environment? i.e. Coen Brothers).
