Good news: Zack Snyder can’t make a worse movie than Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. Even though it is the last Superman to feature Christopher Reeve, somehow the special effects are worse than its predecessors. Superman IV: The Quest for Peace is not even worth a glance for nostalgia purposes. The story is atrocious, and his nemesis felt like a WWF wannabe. The sheer patina of political reference only dates the movie instead of elevating it even an inch. At least Superman faces more daunting physical challenges than before. Jon Cryer and Mariel Hemingway got a paycheck and a credit so they may be the only ones happy about this movie’s existence. The best part is the beginning, and only because it reminded me of Gravity. Skip it!
