Where to Watch

POSSIBLE SPOILERS
The Citizen Kane of Bond films. I hated Straw Dogs, but Skyfall took the best part of it & amplified it exponentially. Batman could learn a thing or two from Bond about letting go of the past. Some Blade Runner-esque moments: both visually & in plot. Talk about best reboot ever–over the course of 3 movies, even including the weakest Quantum of Solace: earned the right to take back the facets of past Bond films, re-imagine them & make them better (referring to Moneypenny & M-squared). Javier Bardem was magnificent, perhaps the most persuasive villain & his line to Bond at the lake mirrored what the audience was feeling at that point. A beautiful film. Normally I don’t like fight scenes in the shadows, but because it was done judiciously & not during every fight scene (Soderbergh, I’m looking at you), I made an exception for this film. Only negative: Daniel Craig wore too many layers for the majority of the film & I think that he was only shirtless for two scenes. Tsk, tsk, tsk. I need Casino Royale’s people to talk to Sam Mendes. If Ralph Fiennes was still hot (alas his time has passed), I would have been swooning.
