I saw the remake first. Even though this version is dated, I can see why Scarface was groundbreaking at the time: car chase scenes, Tommy gun fights, loose women in spaghetti straps. This Tony is more reckless, nihilistic & a chaos lover than Pacino…oh, & a bit of a metrosexual. The real stars are Tony’s sister & Poppy, who are more full of life & joy in this crime ridden world than their remake counterparts.
