I found S1m0ne disturbing for reasons that may or may not have been unintentional–burgeoning insanity of a director as he takes the persona of a computer simulated actress then hates that part of himself and treats it as something totally separate and independent from himself; the fact that the computer simulation looked like his daughter; the objectification of people, specifically women–emotions as commodity, ideas of control and obsession; the idea of trapping and marginalizing the real director like a puppet by the end of the movie by the movie production company and the film director’s digital successor as embodied by his daughter. None of it felt believable or even fun except the main tabloid reporter played by Pruitt Taylor Vince. Skip it!
