Where to Watch

The 2014 version of RoboCop may have an amazing cast, but is far too clean, too bloodless and family friendly. Even the criminals balk at the idea of killing a cop! RoboCop alludes to interesting societal problems caused by war: trauma leading to estrangement from family, immersing oneself in work and emotionally cutting oneself off from the world. Also the thread of corruption breaks instead of running throughout the narrative. The tertiary cast isn’t as memorable as the original. The goal of this RoboCop is the goal of most disaster movies: reunite the family in a now sexless union for the proper healthy upbringing of the kids. The human heart can overcome any programming. Yawn! The good news: watching the remake made me rewatch the original. The bad news: this movie is probably available in Iran. What a waste of Omar. Glad that everyone can pay their mortgages. Not a must see, but not horrendous. If you have nothing to do, watch it then immediately go to Hulu and watch the original.
