When I saw the film, it was listed on Netflix as Pocket Change based on the original title, “L’argent de poche.” What is great about it: unlike Hollywood treacly films about childhood, the story feels naturalistic, especially as you see the connections between the children & parents and you get a portrait of the whole small town. What snapped me out of the magic: one ridiculous scene involving a cat & a kid playing by a window. Objective movie goer appreciating naturalistic beauty to this is ridiculous & not in a cool, magical realistic way.
