You know that scene in a film where a landscape rushes by & it is shot upside down (i.e. Devil produced by M. Night or Carriers). That’s from Dreyer! Silent movies can be difficult for a modern viewer to watch, but The Passion of Joan of Arc is quite a graphic & almost 60s Italian (think Antonioni–Dreyer is Danish) realist depiction of a historical event with visual influences from WWI.
