Molokai: The Story of Father Damien has an amazing cast, but not given much to do. A wonderful & tragic true story, but after seeing Of Gods and Men (which may have spoiled me for life), the portraits were a bit one dimensional. A good tv movie, but intended for the theatre. Feels cursory. As if the makers of the film had a list of events that they wanted to portray and begin to neglect character development. If a character is the same from the beginning to the end with no inflection or nuance. Good characters are always good and vice versa so not a reflection of real life. It is more common to see that in tv movies versus theatre released movies, but not exclusive.
