Miss Representation is a terrific and comprehensive preach to the choir documentary. You probably want to watch Miss Representation if you believe that media is biased in its representation of women, and the very people that need to watch this documentary won’t. Miss Representation keeps it simple. Miss Representation is like a gateway for those interested in gender representation, not for someone already ensconced deeply in that subject. There is no talk of intersectionality or how the word “women” is usually synonymous equated with white women, but that isn’t to say that women of color aren’t featured in Miss Representation. Miss Representation is a solid and simple documentary that is perfect for young audiences or people new to gender analysis in media.
