I watched Lost Souls (Animas Perdidas) two times in a row because stories about families can be confusing-who is related to who & how & when did that happen-& because it speaks so powerfully to the experience of children of single parents: “I grew up with this idea that dads left their kids and it was easy for them.” The fathers aren’t demonized or rehabilitated. Just honest & unflinching.
