If you loved Michael Mann’s Manhunter, then you may want to see The Keep, which has the feel of a visual & narrative rough draft. Warning: the special effects are dated and during the last half hour, it feels like whoever was paying for the movie started screaming, “Wrap it up,” because it suddenly feels rushed & poorly edited. Lots of great actors when they were younger. Also I wouldn’t be surprised if Ridley Scott &/or Damon Lindehof ripped off this movie because it has a Prometheus vibe without all the dancing around their real spiritual belief. My humanist/atheist friends would love Ian McKellan’s humanist turn and thematic undercurrent.
