Because of the comedic tone, only one death & presence of the children throughout the film, Iron Monkey felt like lighter martial arts fare than I was accustomed to in the past, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t frequent references to the omnipresence of sexual exploitation of women as a sign of government corruption. Unfortunately such progressive scenes do not prevent the titular hero from ridiculing the one female henchman for her looks and sexual activity.
