Where to Watch

The Iceman Confesses: Secrets of a Mafia Hitman rehashes some of the footage and story lines from The Iceman Tapes: Conversations with a Killer except Richard Kuklinski is more willing to share details of his personal and professional murders, particularly the minutiae of being a contract killer: how he got started, logistics of executions, work life balance, disguises, covering your tracks. For the first time, the documentary reveals his collaboration with other hit men, and that he is not the only member of his family who became a killer, which may explain why he distinguishes himself with a moral code: he won’t kill women or children. He may be the more normal, definitely more functional and friendly. Friends are a different story, and he clearly regrets leaving one alive. He knows that there is something wrong with him. What I find interesting: he is very concerned about bright lights and seeing well. Not as strong as the first or third, but still interesting if you don’t mind the repetitive portions. Don’t skip the closing credits.
