The Patty Hearst story. Jokes aside, Flesh + Blood manages to portray all but one character as complete, multidimensional human beings: sympathetically, unflinchingly, brutally, not wholly evil or good. Graphic, but not gratuitous–germane considering time period & story. I’m a huge Rutger Hauer fan (Blade Runner & LadyHawke), but everyone, especially Jennifer Jason Leigh, does an amazing job showing the inflections of their characters’ emotions.
