Delicatessen is very reminiscent of Hotel Splendide in narrative & visual themes, but that’s because it is an homage to Terry Gilliam. For the first hour, I kept thinking that Tim Burton wants to make films like this. Then the story kind of fell flat & lost all steam. Excellent effort & quite tasteful despite sensational theme.
