Where to Watch

I feel like the filmmakers were going for a Evil Dead/Wes Craven/Cabin in the Woods vibe, which made Dead Snow more disappointing. It would be better if there were no ambitions and just a straight movie featuring Nazi zombies. The characters were interchangeable and eye roll worthy. The Nazi zombie mythology felt underdeveloped and jumbled. In my head, I made a better mythology ripping off a storyline from this season of Supernatural. One kill scene felt like the filmmakers had a conversation and said, “You know what would be cool,” except it felt like Nazi zombies also temped as Broadway chorus girls, which would have been cool if it continued throughout the movie as if they still kept soldier synchronicity in after life, but they didn’t. I did like the bleak hopelessness of surviving the onslaught of undead Nazis, but by then, meh. Could have been cool. Should have been cool. Just wasn’t.
