Where to Watch

Dead Alive is not my cup of tea because dated special effects & felt like the zombies were a rip-off of Raimi’s Evil Dead, but I can appreciate the comedy of manners–highlighting the absurdities of societal norms by using horror to expose the corruption under the surface, especially the over-bearing mother. Zombies represent the stultifying & abnormal family life that the main male character would have to face if he didn’t separate himself from her & all whom she associated with & cling to a real life with his future mate. Very Freudian ending……
