Dancing Across Borders is a tale about a hard working immigrant & dance. I should love this documentary, but I just felt slightly queasy over the whole thing & it dragged a bit. Why was I queasy? On one hand, I’m glad that he had an opportunity for a “better” life & know that all the people involved only had the best intentions, but I kind of felt like he was exploited & never got a real choice. And why is it more important for him to learn ballet & not remain a traditional Cambodian dancer? Now I have to question my taste or maybe I need to know more about ballet, but I didn’t find his performances that captivating. Not a must see unless you’re really into ballet.
