I usually hate legal dramas because they never feel right, but this one was excellent–Conviction begins & ends with a relationship & not just the siblings. Conviction doesn’t get treacly. Most of the drama lies in the daily drudgery of becoming & being a lawyer. Great acting & a tragic story that can never be laden with the word, ‘heartwarming.’ I loved that the movie didn’t pull any punches. The wrongly convicted man isn’t treated as a saint. It shows why strangers could see him as a murderer, but also why his sister could believe in him without being an enabler.
