Where to Watch

Bridesmaids was quite funny! I love any joke relating to having stomach issues at inopportune times. For the most part, this movie was an extended Hangover for women. The characters’ traits were not gender specific though some of the situations were, which worked for me because I like the Feig-Apatow formula, but I was so stressed for Kristen’s character’s realistic problems that at times I was wondering how she would really deal with them. Her friends love her. Her family is there for her. She is talented & has a love interest, but none of that means that she’ll make it. The same applies for any of the characters, but as a group, the chemistry & friendships work. It was a bit of a shock for me to see McCarthy out of her Gilmore Girls’ persona as the adorable chef.
