Poster of The Bourne Legacy

The Bourne Legacy

Action, Adventure, Thriller

Director: Tony Gilroy

Release Date: August 10, 2012

Where to Watch

Flowers for Algernon meets Bourne/Enemy of the State. Also too soon after The Grey. A dash of Dream House. Product placement galore (Buick LeSabre, Comfort Inn, etc.). A great ensemble cast (Rachel Weisz, Corey Stoll, Stacey Keach, Edward Norton, Donna Murphy), but would not have minded a brief cameo from Damon to pass over the reins. I’ve seen Jeremy Renner in a million films & never found him attractive, but in The Bourne Legacy, I did & have discovered my hotness trigger: guys easily scaling ridiculous physical obstacles in an urban setting. Now Daniel Craig is a hot man anywhere, but I think that explains why Casino Royale pushed him into the category of “would watch him in literally anything” movies–he busted down a wall & I know that it is acting, but still…..Ahem, back to Bourne. There were a few promising elements in the film that were left on the table (are they still human, why were some participants punished, Zeljko Ivanek’s backstory), but overall a satisfying, simple movie.
