Airport 77

Action, Drama, Thriller

Director: Jerry Jameson

Release Date: March 11, 1977

Where to Watch

Oh no, Airport 77 goes back to its original roots and forgets the lessons learned by Airport 1975. It is a glorified soap opera meets Airport meets The Poseidon Adventure. Any world where Jack Lemmon, whom I love, is able to physically survive a disaster over Christopher Lee doesn’t know me. Joseph Cotten is placed in a wretched shirt. Airport franchise staple, George Kennedy, only appears in one scene to get his check. Basically Airport 77 is a waste of talent and not a very good story. There seems to even be an implication that James Stewart’s character had a rocky relationship with his daughter. People, he isn’t Henry Fonda! Come on! Not believable for a second.
