When I first started watching The Agony and the Ecstasy, I thought that I got the wrong movie. It felt like a tourist video for people interested in Michelangelo, but the movie started after awhile. I felt off-balanced the rest of the time, but by the end, it won me over. Not one of Heston’s best, but interesting portrait of strong personalities. To be fair, my opinion of the movie may have been affected by unrelated external factors.
