Let’s hope that Joe Hill & Stephen King work all their father son issues in Throttle, their first short story collaboration. A riveting short story, but initially I found it hard to distinguish between some characters because of name similarities and the number of people and the order of events. A quick reread solved that issue, and I was back on track–it could have been me because while reading, I was interacting with a great number of people. Perhaps the main weakness of this story is explanation of the mysterious driver’s motivation in the final scene, which is missing in Duel (I haven’t read the story, only seen the movie, which is excellent). Still an enjoyable and quick read.
