Father & son, Stephen King & Joe Hill, inspire horror in a quotidian setting in the short story, In The Tall Grass. I experienced deja vu while reading it because I felt like I read the story or something similar to it before in an anthology or….? The collaboration is not a gimmick-each makes the other more oneiric and subconsciously terrifying and bleak with minimal detail. I wish that it was longer and certain elements felt like there was more backstory-think Siberia except an American version with no real life origins. I hope that one day, they revisit this pitstop.
