Justin Cronin, read it & weep. The Strain trilogy by Guillermo del Toro is everything that your trilogy (only one book was ever released) wasn’t! In the end, a perfect mix of science, mythology, thriller with a nice vampire metaphor for human rights violations! I only had one issue with the very end from a Christian POV, but I am willing to let it go! The Strain trilogy by Guillermo del Toro is an amazing ride & The Night Eternal is the best. Lesson for Justin Cronin: you have to earn the vampire apocalypse & make it feasible to a reader by building up, not letting the reader down!
