Lonely at the Top

I think that I heard about Lonely at the Top on Salon. It is part memoir, part examination of race, class and history. Christina Lewis Halpern is the daughter of Reginald Lewis, a renown black Harvard Law School graduate and wealthy entrepreneur who rose from humble roots in segregated Baltimore. She compares her father’s image with the reality and how different perceptions of excellence shapes individuals’ lives, including her own since she feels like she is living in his shadow. Lonely at the Top is a must read.
