The Legs Are the Last to Go: Aging, Acting, Marrying, and Other Things I Learned the Hard Way is Diahann Carroll’s second autobiography. I haven’t read the first yet, but I will. Carroll is fairly uncensored as she is going to get. Even as a child, Diahann Carroll was basically Diahann Carroll-fabulous and fashionable, but it is shocking that she put up with even a fraction of the crap given to her by the men in her life. I’m surprised she didn’t say, “Do you know who I am?” because if she did, it would be the only time in the world that would be acceptable. I think that it is great that she admits her diva behavior. Her stories about racism are kind of fascinating because again, you’re thinking, “But she’s Diahann Carroll. Don’t you know who she is?!?” I’m fascinated by these glamorous women who live the opposite of my life.
