If you’re looking for an utterly horrifying look at the basest parts of human nature under the harshest, glaring light possible with little to no supernatural elements or hope, then this book of four stories are for you. Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King is riveting, but after each story, you may need a break so you can cue “A Pocketful of Sunshine” or the latest Katy Perry power anthem to snap you out of the bleak gloom hovering permanently over every story. I’m not saying that it isn’t a good read. You’ll be squirming in your seat & rapidly turning the pages to find out what happens next, but if you thought that Stephen King went soft with his undercurrent sweet books such as 11/22/63, then you would be wrong.
