Diary of a Mad Diva is Joan Rivers’ last book. It is clear that she decided to depart from autobiographically tinged self-help books and decided to fully embrace raunchy humor books with a gossamer thin illusion of a unifying theme. In this case, the premise is a diary, but the diary is just an excuse to make fun of any and everything. Once again, some of her jokes are dated, offensive and profanity ridden, but because her humor can be self-deprecating, I think that she thinks that everyone is fair game, including Anne Frank. Not a must read except for her fans who aren’t easily offended.
